About Me

I picked up my first guitar as a 12 year old boy and I have loved playing music ever since.  I love it today as much as I ever have.

I bought my first guitar in 1971.  I wasn't very far into my musical journey when I began to write songs.  I've always seen songwriting as the most interesting aspect of musical expression.

Eventually I found my way to Nashville in 1980.  I played 6 nights a week, 5 hours a night (9pm-2am) for a while.    Then, in 1982 my first son was born.  I was walking out the door one night with my guitar in hand.  I looked back and saw my wife Laura sitting on the sofa holding that baby boy.

In that instant, I felt that “Daddy should be at home with his family at night”.  I'm not sure why I had that thought, but I did.  So within a few months, I went back to working a “day job”.  I continued writing songs and playing my music while raising a beautiful family.  This was during a time that churches were starting to add guitar & drums to their services.  So I spent the next 40+ years playing at various churches while “gigging” sporadically.

Then after raising 4 kids, I began to perform at bars & restaurants again.  I'm thrilled that I am still playing music at this point in life.  It brings me a huge amount of joy and I hope you enjoy it too!

This site features a few of my original songs as well as some well known tunes that I cover.  I also have  plenty of video's posted on YouTube.  You can view some of them by clicking on the “Video's” tab above.

I live in Fernandina Beach, Florida (Just north of Jacksonville) and perform around the Jacksonville, FL area either solo/acoustic or with the Amelia Blues Band.
